About Me

My name is Lynette Glass. I live in South Africa. I became interested in collecting bears in October 1996.

I found a bear shop in one of the malls, and purchased my very first bear kit. It was for a little 5 inch bear made out of mohair, with jointed arms and legs. It was too cute. I finally sat down on the 2 January 1998 and made my very first bear. Boy, was I proud of it. He turned out to be so cute and that was the start of my bear making frenzy. Once I had started, I couldn’t stop. Anyone who comes to visit is always amazed by the bears and even more amazed when they realise that they are all hand made – by me.

After careful thought and much deliberation, I decided during 2000 that I would go Public. Every bear I made from then on would be up for adoption – It took some getting used to, but at least others will be able to share the pleasure that I get from my bears.

I am proud to say that some of my bears now live in America, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.

My preferred size is 17 to 23 cm, however, I do experiment with miniature bears now and then – and sometimes I even make a bigger bear.  My preferred fabric is Mohair although I do use other fabrics as well.

Some of my other hobbies include knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, photography, refurbishing furniture and other items using chalk paint and wax – and of course, gardening ♥

I am also passionate about Rhinos and Donkeys.

Hope you keep coming back to see what’s new on my page.
